Paper The Operator

Goodbye God

Viper Bite Records (2010)

I could have sworn that Paper The Operator were just a really simple and upbeat indie-pop band, but Goodbye God has a really surprising level of intricacy to it that ended up pleasantly surprise me.  That being said, the band hasn’t transformed into some sort of multi-symphonic indie-rock disaster of epic proportions.  This is still simple guitar-bass-drums-keys driven stuff that’s got the intricacy in the melody, the air of melancholy, and composition.

Honestly, I’m a little shocked at how much I liked this, and I definitely see it getting multiple playings in the upcoming months.
