Who’se watching?

Watchmen: How 9/11 Changed Watchmen from io9.com;

Warning;  Spoilers for Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons’ Watchmen, as well as the upcoming movie adaptation.

clipboard013According to the interview, one of the main reasons for the big no-squid change for the ending of the film, as well as a drastically-cut carnage/bodycount, has to do with “sensitivity” in America post-the September 11th, 2001 attacks.  Basically, studio pressure reworked the film because studio executives who probably weren’t even in New York then are iffy about violence and images of mass destructi0n.

For once.

Sorry, I tend to call bullshit whenever people try to use 9/11/01 as either a) some sort of rallying cry for something that has nothing to do with it or b) an excuse for their own spinelessness and censorship.  Because guess what?  I was here when it happened*, and it wasn’t that big a deal.  Suck it up, buttercup.

*)And THAT is the only time you will ever see me talk about this subject.
