sons of no one

Tess and I went and saw Adventureland last night, it was one of the best movies I’ve seen in a while. If you get a chance, see it.  An underrated “coming-of-age” film that manages to transcend the label AND have Husker Du and the one good Replacements song playing at one point.  Kristen Stewart or whatever isn’t really that great of an actress and needs to not play with her hair every time she’s in-frame, but the rest of the cast is dead-on awesome, including Jesse Eisenberg.  Especially him.  He gives Cera a run for his money when it comes to the painfully awkward type.

When we got home This Is Spinal Tap was on TV, which was a perfect way to cap off the evening.  Also, we’re going to see Anvil, stars of Anvil! The Story of Anvil on Monday. Be jealous.  Because the metal will be brought.  The metal is being brought.  The metal HAS been brought.  If you get a chance to see that doc, you should because it’s been getting great buzz from the right people, and features Rob Halford from Judas Priest and Lemmy from Motörhead are on there talking about this band.  Which is always a sign of good taste.
