After The Fall

(presents) Fort Orange

Raise Your Fists Records/Ass-Card Records (2009)

After The Fall are from upstate New York, which brings me a small bit of joy, not gonna lie.  It’s always good to hear bands this sweet coming from my home state that aren’t wishing they were the Cro-Mags or Hatebreed or alternately, the Stooges or Blondie.  Instead, they’re just a couple of guys throwing together some great melodic hardcore punk, the kind that I can totally remember listening to all the time when I was a kid and I still listen to and love.  It’s nostalgia in a good way.

Fort Orange reminds me A LOT of bands like No Trigger, Strike Anywhere, and a bit of old Strung Out, which I’m gonna say is definitely a good thing. It’s fast and furious and smooth without really feeling overproduced at all. Also, it’s got gang vocals, which everyone secretly loves.  Admit it, you love ’em.  Come on, you know you do.  Say it…
