webcomix – “Sacred Heart”

Sacred Heart is Liz Suburbia’s latest truly rad webcomic masterpiece.  It’s Teenagers From Mars meets Hairstyles Of The Damned, an intriguing and awesomely-drawn webcomic that I totally love.

I’ve been a fan of Liz’s work for a long time, ever since her webcomic Hey Suburbia!Sacred Heart‘s full story has yet to be revealed as Liz posts only a few pages at a time, but a punk rock girl named Ben lives, goes to shows, encounters a crime scene, tattoos, and watches horror movies.  More slowly but surely is spooling out, but you won’t feel like it’s dragging at all.  Liz’s art is amazing here, and you’ll be totally sucked in.  In fact the latest few pages, some of my favorites so far, are marking a distinct change, a shift in the air as something almost mystical (or is it?) is happening in the background of Ben’s world.

It’s very much in the vein of the aforementioned books/comics, a simple and realistic story that reminds me way to much of stuff I’ve done and people I’ve known.  Seriously, check it out.  You’ll thank me later.
