Random Record Review – Balance And Composure/Tigers Jaw “split”

Balance And Composure/Tigers Jaw

Split

No Sleep/Run For Cover (2010)

I’m ambivalent about split records.  Sometimes they’re terrible, just throwaway tracks that are an excuse for labels to put something out. On the opposite end, there’s amazing gems of music like the Alkaline Trio/Hot Water Music split, which is one of my all-time favorites.

This split between two great pop-punk influenced bands definitely falls into the latter category, being some of Tigers Jaw‘s strongest songs I’ve heard so far in particular.  Balance And Composure aren’t slouching off either, making this just a solid release that I’ll definitely have on repeat for a long time.
