Artists Who Rock – Eric Canete

I don’t know what it is, but every time someone mentions Eric Canete online, there’s some sort of cosmic awareness that triggers a wave of negative reactions, like a Hater’s Brigade or something.  I don’t understand it, because his work is quite frankly, amazing.  Newsarama just had a tiny highlight of him and this commission of Cable he posted at his blog.

Canete’s got this amazing sense of fluidity and atmosphere and proportion, and knows just when and where to tweak all of it when necessary.  It’s a style influenced as much from graffiti and animation as it was from fine art and traditional comics, a style that I see a lot these days and love.

Anyway, you should definitely follow Canete’s blog, buy the books he does art for, and just generally be in awe of his work.
